An art exhibition of mobile phone videos was showcased in Paris on Thursday.
Paris, France (WiredPRNews.com) – An art exhibition that showcased mobile phone videos of protestors in Iran was presented on a shopping street in Paris last week. As reported by AFP, the “Twitter Revolution” display included footage of anti-government protestors in an opposition movement that was placed on social media sites like Twitter and YouTube following a ban on Iran media coverage of the protests.
The Paris-funded group, Forum des Images, will reportedly host the “Pocket Films” mobile phone film festival next month. Festival coordinator Benoit Labourdette is quoted in the report as stating of the festival’s focus, “but beyond the role of the democratic witness, the festival will be asking questions of this camera. Its images, while being a guarantee of reality, are just as easily manipulated and suspect.”
As noted in the report, the exhibition will be displayed through May 16.
