The co-host of “The View” gave an apology on air to Erin Andrews for recent critical remarks.
New York (WiredPRNews.com) – Elisabeth Hasselbeck recently offered a televised apology to female sports reporter and “Dancing with the Stars” competitor Erin Andrews. As reported by the Yahoo! TV Blog, the co-host of “The View” apologized to Andrews after suggesting that an outfit worn by her on “Dancing” may contribute to incidents similar to the one suffered by Andrews in which a stalker secretly taped her without her clothes on and posted the videos online. The man in that case, Michael Barret, has reportedly been convicted of stalking her and is currently serving a prison sentence.
As noted in the report, an emotional Hasselbeck appeared on her show Wednesday expressing regret in making those remarks. Hasselbeck is quoted in the report as stating, “I ended up hurting [Andrews].”
Andrews is quoted as stating that the initial comments were “a slap in the face to victims of stalking and sexual predators.”
