A local school is sued after a teacher allegedly begins a relationship with one of his students.
Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – Parents of a teenager who allegedly had a sexual relationship with a teacher have filed a lawsuit against her former school. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, the parents of the 16 year-old girl are suing the Episcopal School of Dallas, alleging the private school failed to properly protect for their daughter in the matter and also improperly expelled her from school thereafter.
The girl’s father is quoted in the report as stating of the case in an interview, “The teacher victimized her, then the school victimized her.” The lawsuit is further quoted as alleging, “Campbell was permitted to resign without having ESD take any adverse action against him.”
As noted in the report, an attorney for the school asserts proper actions were taken in the matter. The teen reportedly had a relationship with 34 year-old history teacher, J. Nathan Campbell, for several months according to the lawsuit.
