No survivors have reportedly been found following an Afghan plane crash.
Kabul, Afghanistan (WiredPRNews.com) – No survivors were reportedly found after a search Friday following an Afghan airliner crash. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Aviation Minister Mohammadullah Batash stated Friday that survivors were not found among the 44 passengers aboard the Antonov-24 after wreckage was found of the plane Thursday.
As noted in the report, the aircraft, en route to Kabul from Kunduz, disappeared on Monday. The cause of the crash had yet to be determined at the time of the report. Allegations of unsafe measures attributed to the airline have reportedly been made; however, Pamir Airways has denied claims that proper safety procedures were not followed.
As further noted by the AP, the An-24 plane has been commonly used by airlines in developing countries due to cost-efficiency in operations and maintenance.
