Dallas, Texas – The driver who crashed into an airport toll booth has reportedly claimed she was rear-ended. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, Yasmine Villasana, 22, told authorities she had been hit from behind when crashing into the DFW Airport toll booth early Tuesday morning.
As noted in the report, Villasana was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving following the accident, and authorities reportedly stated there appeared to be no sign that she had been hit from behind. She was treated at Parkland Memorial Hospital for a wrist injury.
David Magaña, manager of public affairs for the airport, is quoted in the report as stating of it being unlikely that the driver would be required to pay for damages after the accident, “We’ve had people go crashing into these things before… The cost of infrastructure is, infrastructure gets damaged.”
