San Francisco, CA – Yahoo is introducing changes to its site that will include social media updates. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the site’s changes will give users the option of having personal Facebook updates imported via a news feed on the site.
As noted in the report, users can turn on the link for Facebook access, which the company proposes may lead more users to hang around while on the website for longer periods. Yahoo has a purported audience of 600 million users across the globe; however the amount of time spent by users on the site has decreased on average over the last few years. The changes are anticipated to help boost revenue from increased online advertising opportunities. The company also reportedly plans to provide users with access to Twitter updates at a later date as well.
