Beijing – Actor Jackie Chan recently spoke of his latest role in “The Karate Kid” opposite, Jaden Smith, son of Will Smith, regarding it as a welcome change from his usual action-comedy roles. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Chan, who plays Mr. Han, in the updated version of the popular 1980s film, spoke to reporters in Beijing about the role.
Chan, whose other film credits include the “Rush Hour” series, is quoted by the AP as stating, “I’m very happy to take on a different role. It’s not just a comedy, but a serious role.”
Will Smith, who along with his wife Jada, served as executive producer of the film, is further quoted in the report as stating of its success, “I’m very excited about how well the movie did in the U.S. and I hope the rest of the world will have the same reaction.”
