New Orleans – The head of the fund designated for victims of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill has stated that payments for related claims would be expedited. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Kenneth Feinberg, who’s been chosen by the White House to oversee the fund, recently stated the desperate situation the spill has left many in, calls for immediate relief.
Feinberg, who was also chosen to run the claim fund designated for victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, is quoted by the AP as stating of the issue, “We want to get these claims out quicker… We want to get these claims out with more transparency.” He reportedly stated more than $100 million in claims has been paid to date.
