Dallas, Texas – The recent rejection of a jobs bill in the Senate has left many wondering where they will turn after their unemployment benefits soon run out. As reported by CBS 11 News, unemployment benefits are expected to start phasing out for 200,000 people across the country beginning next week, with an estimated 30,000 per week of the 358,000 recipients in North Texas to soon begin losing their benefits.
Leo Jackson of Dallas, who has received unemployment since February, is quoted in the report as stating of the issue, “I’m not planning on staying unemployed, but the economy isn’t really turning up enough jobs.”
Congressional Democrats have expressed hope that voters will seek to have the jobless bill revived so that unemployment benefits may be extended.
