New York, NY – June 23, 2010 – With 500 BILLION plastic bags being consumed annually and the 58 MILLION barrels of oil it takes to make them; one might think the green trend isn’t catching on fast enough. Le Haute, Inc. has decided to help speed up the process. “I’ve made it my personal mission to force plastic bags into extinction,” said Cecily Witcher, CEO. “It’s amazing that a quick trip to the grocery store can easily use six plastic bags. Those bags will eventually make it to landfills or oceans.”
Cecily Witcher started out as a model appearing on TV and in magazines. She even walked the runway for international designer Anna Sui. Cecily is a graduate of the New York Fashion Institute of Technology. She has worked as a designer and merchandiser for Guess, Kathy Van Zeeland and Charles David. Le Haute, Inc. brings together Cecily’s flair for fashion and her southern charm to create eco-friendly bags for discriminating fashion minds. The bags are great for groceries, a day of sight seeing, souvenir purchases, last minute travel carry on, etc.
Le Haute, Inc’s efforts recently gained the company an invitation from NY Senator Gillibrand’s staff and Commissioner Walsh for a NYC Business Solutions presentation. There Cecily Witcher explained the benefits Le Haute, Inc. brings to the cause of preserving the one earth we have. She also expressed her thanks to NYC Business Solutions. “They are awesome. I’ve spoken with entrepreneurs in other cities and they said they have received no where near the help I have from NYC Business Solutions,” said Cecily when asked over the phone about NYC Business Solutions. “It makes you appreciate being in a city like New York. I’m originally from the South, but NYC Business Solutions has shown me that hospitality is up here too.” The recent event marks the official launch of Le Haute, Inc. into the spotlight.
Le Haute, Inc’s next task is to offer aid in the BP oil spill crisis. Le Haute, Inc’s CEO will personally bring one hundred bags filled with water and sustenance to volunteers assisting with the crisis. This journey to Louisiana takes place July 5, 2010 and ends on July 8, 2010. Cecily will be accompanied by professional photographer, Karim Harrington. They will capture pictures of what some have not yet seen in the crisis. Modernage Photo Lab has partnered with Le Haute, Inc to help with development and submission of the photos. Those photos will then go to an auction where 100% of the proceeds go to a local non-profit in Louisiana. In an effort to increase exposure to the issue, Cecily will create a daily video blog (http://www.lehautebags.blogspot.com) and interview residents while in Louisiana. Impact-dc.com has signed on to help distribute the message through additional channels. Mother Earth is en vogue now. Cecily promises it keeps gettin’ better.
