Los Angeles – Cyclist and Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong, recently tweeted about making this year’s Tour his last. As reported by AFP, Armstrong, who is set to begin the competition for what could be his eighth title in the professional bicycle race, stated via Twitter on Monday that the event would be his final Tour.
Armstrong, who is competing with team RadioShack this year, is quoted in the report as stating on his Twitter page, “And yes, this will be final Tour de France. It’s been a great ride. Looking forward to three great weeks.” The cyclist is further quoted as re-tweeting after finding mistakes in the post, “Doh, sorry, meant “my” final Tour.”
Armstrong won the Tour de France title for seven consecutive years from 1999-2005, after successfully battling cancer in 1998.
