Dallas, Texas – Changes may be in store for the streets of downtown Dallas. As reported by NBC DFW News, the thoroughfare committee for the city recently approved plans to convert some one-way streets into two-ways, which would affect such as Akard, Commerce, Ervay, Pacific, Elm, and others.
John Crawford, president of Downtown Dallas Inc., is quoted in the report as stating, “The bottom line on the conversion of one-way to two-way is simply better circulation downtown.”
Dallas resident Angie Vanhoose, is further quoted as stating of the potential impact the changes will have for the downtown area, “I think it will bring more people down here… They’ll be less intimidated.”
Dallas’ plan commission is set to consider the project proposal next month, with the City Council set to vote on it in August.
