Fort Worth – A Fort Worth police officer was seriously injured in a car accident during a high-speed chase. As reported by CBS 11 News, the officer sustained severe injuries after his vehicle crashed into a tree during the pursuit.
Lamb Jones, a witness to the incident, is quoted in the report as stating, “When we heard the impact hit, it sounded like four tires blew out. Took them 15 to 20 minutes to get him out him out of there… They were all working out of there.”
The officer was reportedly taken to JPS hospital. Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief is quoted by CBS 11 News as stating in a press conference Thursday, “One of our 15 year veterans in this department was in a serious accident. Our prayers are with him I would ask the city to pray for him and his family, as well as the Fort Worth police family who are all hurting this evening.”
