Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii (WiredPRNews.com) — Duece Bigalow is coming to Maui, and a crooner is coming with him!
The Maui Celebrity Series has announced that it’s eight concert will showcase none other than comedian Rob Schneider, star of major motion pictures such as “Duece Bigalow” and as has appeared in practically every Adam Sandler film proclaiming “You Can Do It” in a manner that has permanently linked the star to the slogan worldwide.
On Saturday, September 25th, it’ll be Rob Schneider who “Can Do It” in legendary style at The Maui Theatre, home to ‘Ulalena, in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. Special guests will include newcomer band ARISE and comedian Sunny Dennis, with a special appearance by Brian Evans, who opens for the likes of Jay Leno and Joan Rivers, and who is currently working on his major label debut which will feature a duet with Ozzy Osbourne offspring Kelly Osbourne. The CD will feature a 56 piece big band, most of which is material written by Brian Evans and a track by Ahmet Zappa (whom Evans also has created the upcoming graphic novel “Horrorscope”, also to be aimed at films, video games, and the toy market among others).
This will be Rob Schneider’s first concert performance on Maui in his career.
“The Maui Celebrity Series targets those whom have never performed here before. Every act we’ve presented are newcomers to the Maui entertainment scene, and we also include local talent who might not otherwise have the chance to open for stars such as this. It allows for us to help develop careers while celebrating the headliners and their work,” says co-producer Arman Zajic. The series was created by crooner Brian Evans after he noticed the west side of Maui was lacking in night time performances.
“We’re doing something different,” says Evans, whose “The Maui Celebrity Series” is currently featured in a full page spread in SkyMall Magazine, which is in the seat pocket (on page 120) of every commercial airline in the world. Last week, the series received international coverage when MTV featured the series on their network, and the show is now being developed as a reality TV show, Evans and comedian Tom Arnold (who appeared recently at the series) as Executive Producers for the soon-to-be nationally televised network show.
“We’re about to make our 680 seat venue a 10 million seater,” says Evans. “No one had any idea that this would take the life on that it has,”
As the series has assisted in the adding of tourism, The Governor of Hawaii, Linda Lingle, recently issued Commendations to all of the producers, included the first shows guest, William Shatner, who helped Evans launch the new series as the first guest celebrity.
“We owe everything to William Shatner,” says Evans. “The man has a heart of gold and he understands what we’re trying to do here. Shatner is undoubtedly the most brilliant man I know.”

In October, who Evans began his career with along side fellow-crooner Michael Buble’, expects his debut major label release to be issued within the year. He will also act as the monthly concert celebrity in October.
“That record has taken a long time to make,” says Evans.
“I created this series to have fun, to not hide behind the 501(c) organization tactic because I don’t believe that’s always wise or truthful, and by my own mistakes in my career I realize that I want to be transparent in my dealings. I’m of the opinion that we’re not here far longer than we are, and I want us to have a good time at every joy and to have the show be a real and true moment for all our customers,” says Evans.
