Des Moines, Iowa – President Barack Obama recently spoke to a group of voters in Iowa about what is needed to sustain an economic recovery, asserting that proposals by the GOP have been dishonest. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Obama stated that there are no shortcuts for getting the country back on track.
Obama is quoted by the AP as stating to the group in a backyard setting, “We can’t pretend that there are shortcuts… When you look at the choice we face in this election coming up, the other side, what it’s really offering is the same policies that from 2001 to 2009 put off hard problems and didn’t really speak honestly to the American people about how we’re gonna get this country on track over the long term.”
