Grammy Award Winning Singer And Songwriter To Perform At Event
Englewood, NJ (WiredPRNews.com) – Arts Horizons, one of the largest non-profit arts-in-education organizations in New Jersey and the New York/Metropolitan area, is having its Annual “Broadway Salutes Arts Horizons,” Gala Celebration on Monday, October 25th at the Edison Ballroom, 240 West 47th Street in New York.
This year’s roster of honorees includes Grammy award winning singer and songwriter Paul Simon, who will perform during the evening, and is receiving the Paul Newman Award for Services to the Arts and Children; Actress Arlene Dahl who is receiving the Arts Horizons’ Outstanding Achievement Award; and Philip R. Sellinger, Managing Shareholder New Jersey, of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, who is the recipient of the Celeste Holm Humanitarian Award. Marc Summers, host of “Unwrapped” on the Food Network, and the Nickelodeon game show “Double Dare,” is this year’s Master of Ceremonies.
“Of course it takes practice, practice, practice to get to Carnegie Hall, but it also takes a spark of imagination, and the opportunity to witness the arts up close at a young age,” said Elizabeth Halverstam, Executive Director of Arts Horizons. “For this reason, we hope this year’s proceeds will bring much needed arts experiences to children in schools where art and music programs have been cut due to the current economic climate. Research consistently shows that exposing children to the arts is an important component of creative thinking, a key deterrent to serious anti-social behavior, and an important element in career training and development in the 21st Century.”
“Broadway Salutes Arts Horizons” will begin at 6:30pm, with a cocktail reception followed by dinner, a performance by Paul Simon, entertainment by some of Broadway’s most vibrant stars, and an auction featuring a variety of unique experiences and exciting items.
