Lahaina, Hawaii (WiredPRNews.com) The Maui Celebrity Series continues with it’s announced performance by Citizen Cope, now scheduled for Saturday, May 28th, 2011 at The Maui Theatre in Lahaina, home to ‘Ulalena.
“Citizen Cope follows Mick Fleetwood and MOS DEF in terms of the musical acts we have presented,” says co-producer Arman Zajic. “We are happy to have Citizen Cope confirmed for a summer concert.” Citizen Cope has recorded such hits as “Sideways,” among others.
Comedian Rob Schneider, Tom Green, Roseanne Barr, David Spade, Nick Swardson, Paul Rodriguez, William Shatner and others have performed for the series. The Governor of Nevada awarded the producers commendations for creating the series, which to date has been a regular feature in “Lifestyles of The Rich & Famous” blogger Robin Leach’s internationally reknown column on a monthly basis.
“We’re working on bringing Joan Rivers, Steve-O, and a host of others to the island. It really has been a great success, and the island is thrilled to have this caliber of talent grace Lahaina, something that hasn’t been done before,” says show creator Brian Evans, who opens for the shows in many cases. Evans opens for the likes of Joan Rivers, Jay Leno, and others on the mainland. He is also co-creator of the project “Horrorscope” alongside Ahmet Zappa, and is working on his debut album.
