New York, NY (WiredPRNews.com) In a deal that provides all rights to the graphic novel, toys, video games and film rights to the project “Horrorscope,” Ahmet Zappa has forfeited his rights in the project solely to Brian Evans.
The story is surrounded around a psychic who is forced to give predictions to the mafia. When the mafia’s “Godfather” feels there is no longer use for the psychic, he orders the psychic to be killed. The death of the psychic causes a physical manifestation of the signs of The Zodiac, who then seek revenge for the death of the psychic (also known as “The Zodiac” in the story).
“Ahmet and I have known one another for years, and we both came to the conclusion that this would be the best way for me to streamline the project given his existing, and some of which are conflicting, deals with other companies,” says Brian Evans. “I have always held Ahmet in the highest of regards, and will continue to do so.”
Evans, also a singer, is currently working on his major label debut under producer Narada Michael Walden, who has produced such greats as Whitney Houston (Walden produced “The Bodyguard” soundtrack), Mariah Carey, Elton John, George Michael, Aretha Franklin (Walden wrote “Freeway of Love”), among others.
“My focus is on my music, and I’ll be leaving this project to my entertainment lawyers to sort through. The interest has been great since The Daily Variety first broke the story that I had written it,” says Evans.
