Nashville, TN (WiredPRNews.com) Many undiscovered Hip-Hop producers in the world search for their big break in NYC, Los Angeles and Atlanta. But now a city filled with cowboy hats, boots and country music has turned into the land of opportunity for urban music artists across the world. Yes! Nashville is the home of one of the nation’s most acclaimed Hip-Hop events called the Soundtrack Beat Battle, founded by MTSU Alumni and Memphis Native Coko Korinne.
The Soundtrack Beat Battle is the ultimate throw-down of undiscovered producers going head to head for the opportunity of a lifetime. The grand prize winner receives cash, a pitch meeting with Sony/ATV in Los Angeles, 2 page feature in Electronic Musician Magazine, over $2500 in gear from Big Fish Audio and the opportunity to produce, record and shoot a video with rapper MIMS at SAE studios in Nashville, TN.
Nashville Mayor Karl Dean is scheduled to attend the Soundtrack Beat Battle Grand Finale. Dean is co-chairman of the Nashville Music Council, which was created to capitalize on Nashville’s identity as Music City, and to improve the city’s live music scene.
The doors open at 7 p.m. and the event kickoffs at 8 p.m. October 8, 2011 at Limelight Entertainment Venue, located at 201 Woodland Street. Nashville, Tenn. 37213. This year’s guest judges are Rapper MIMS with the hit song “This is Why I’m Hot”, A&R from Jay-Z’s Record Label ROC-NATION and legendary Hip-Hop producer Mannie Fresh.
“This just goes to show that, not only is Nashville the country music capital, it is an important base for a variety of genres, from classical to hip-hop,” Mayor Dean said. “I always say you can’t have too much live music happening in our city, and events like the Soundtrack Beat Battle are a great addition to our musical calendar.”
The October 8th Grand Finale is not only capturing the attention of important people in the city, but also there are television networks interested in catching a glimpse of the upcoming event in hopes to turn the beat battle into a household commodity.
Coko says, “It’s been a struggle to convince the city, Hip-Hop lovers and record labels that Nashville is now the spot to find an Urban hit record. But with the Special Guests that we have attending the Grand Finale, I know it’s only a matter of time until the rest of the world is rocking to the beats of the Soundtrack Beat Battle”
No longer the diamond in the roughs, Nashville’s hip-hop scene is more than ready to shine. With the help of the Soundtrack Beat Battle, Nashville redefines and gives diversity to the reigning title, Music City.
