Rare London set to shoot for the stars

08/07/2012 (press release: OnlinePR) // Paula Green

Since Rare London’s rebrand from its former name of Rare Fashion earlier in 2012 under the umbrella of Fashion Finder, one of the fastest growing fashion houses in the UK, owner Raj Talwar has spoken on his plans to build the retailer up to be the number one store for women after fantastic fashion.

Raj, who is also the son of Rare London’s original founder, has already set the ball rolling on these big plans, having recently hired John Pinnington as Head of E-commerce in September 2011. John has completely overhauled the website’s navigation and aesthetics, while Rare London’s new Head of Marketing, Paula Green, has begun plans to rework Rare London’s entire wardrobe.

This will be done to make Rare London an internationally recognised brand for party wear, which should see the retailer also becoming one of the biggest in the country. Paula has also made a move to bring their PR in-house, as it has been outsourced to a separate agency for the past six years. Rare London plans to expand its departments in the coming months, with up to eight people being employed within the marketing team and additional members of staff to be added to the buying team by this one hundred per cent family owned business. New offices in China have also been planned by the retailer, which is set to grow at an exponential rate in the next few years.

Rare London will be stripping its look back down to its roots this season, with heritage pieces featuring ornate beading and luxury styles being included in its Autumn/Winter collection. Some of the key trends to appear in the collection are to include Russian Bohemia, which will come with tapestry-style fabrics, floral prints and ornate beading. It will come with playsuits, mullet hems, skater dresses and feminine blouses, in colours such as red, mustard, cream and rust.

For the Christmas season Rare London will be releasing its Gothic Bejewelled trend, which will feature lace, PVC, velvet, satin and wet-look styles, all with metallic colourings and glamorous beading to highlight the styles. The collection’s colour palette is to include deep reds, golds, emerald greens, and blacks.

Rare London’s party dresses will take a sci-fi style, as the catwalks have been awash with futuristic styles lately. The retailer is set to release peplum dresses and other styles with strong lines and cut out features, along with appliqued glitter, sequins and metallic add-ons. Navy blue, royal blue, teal, silver, gold and amber will be the colours of choice for the style, and the dresses will boast fabrics such as taffeta, satin and silk.

The A/W 12 collection from Rare London will combine subtle feminine tones with strong colours such as red, gold and jade to show the variety it offers. The collection will also offer pieces that would be ideal for both day and night wear, so customers can get the most use out of their purchases. The collection will be previewed at the Bread and Butter Supershow in Berlin this year, at stand F26.2. Once released, branded Rare London clothing such as the Rare lace open tie back dress can be bought from retailers ASOS, Peek & Cloppenburg, Topshop, Conleys and through the official Rare London website.
