Surveys for money review website Survey Spencer recently released an updated review for the web’s most popular paid survey panels. The site team hopes that the new reviews will give site visitors an up-to-date snapshot of the panels’ payouts, surveys and potential pitfalls.
What convinced the Survey Spencer content team to update their reviews? According to website head Spencer Mitchell, some of the content was simply out of date: “While we aim to update our reviews on a regular basis, we do find that the majority of survey panels change at a glacial rate. Therefore we don’t usually need to tend to our old reviews more than once every few years or so. However, we had one panel, NPD Online Research, which recently underwent some significant changes. To help provide visitors with fresh, relevant content, we needed to get cracking on a new review that was accurate and up to date.”
What were the major changes to the reviews? Mitchell notes that, “The payout structure of NPD changed since our initial review was published in February of 2012. They’ve largely moved towards something known as “Sweepland” , which is a contest-based compensation system. Also, they’ve gotten some negative reviews on consumer review sites, such as RipOffReport.com. While our team has never had an issue with this particular panel, we wanted to provide a balanced view on people’s experience. These are the types of changes that we’ve made to nearly all of our survey panel reviews.”
Mitchell adds that the panels will likely be updated on a more regular basis as to ensure that all reviews contain accurate information: “We were first alerted to an out of date piece of information when a site reader informed us that the points system had changed with Opinion Outpost, and that points were worth less than when we initially published the review. This changed our opinion on this site and forced us to drop the panel from our top-6 rated paid survey panels. To prevent this issue in the future we have scheduled monthly maintenance of all paid survey reviews.”
