Mackin Helps Classrooms and Libraries Rebuild After Hurricane Sandy

11/20/2012 (press release: MackinMarketing) // Burnsville, Minnesota, USA // Troy Mikell

Long after disaster strikes, the aftermath of devastation can continue. In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Minnesota-based Mackin Educational Resources is helping schools and libraries rebuild damaged or destroyed collections with its innovative online fundraising program, Funds4Books Disaster Relief. Every penny donated goes to the participating school or library. Further, Mackin will provide a 10 percent match for each dollar donated for east coast schools and libraries impacted by the devastating superstorm.

Mackin Educational Resources invites districts, schools, classrooms, and libraries affected by Hurricane Sandy to participate in Funds4Books Disaster Relief. For more details or to sign up, please visit www.Funds4Books.com or call 1-800-245-9540. Sign up is free and includes promotional materials and a custom webpage for donors to visit. Any donation made to a Funds4Books campaign may be tax deductible under 170c1 and/or 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code, but Mackin encourages donors to seek assistance from a tax consultant regarding income tax deductions.

Funds4Books was created by Mackin Educational Resources in 2010 as an alternative to traditional school fundraisers which typically provide as little as five percent of proceeds for the schools. Unlike other programs, Funds4Books allows participating schools and libraries to retain 100 percent of the donations for the purchase of new books, eBooks, DVDs, and other curriculum and literacy materials. Additionally, shipping is free and the materials arrive fully processed and shelf ready with complete electronic catalog records.

“Our hearts go out to those suffering from loss and widespread devastation following Hurricane Sandy,” said Randal Heise, Mackin president. “We hope the Funds4Books program and the goodwill of the nation will provide some comfort.”
