As Commander of the Faithful, King Mohammed VI has recently agreed in principle to accept three cooperation requests to manage religious matters by Tunisia, Guinea and Libya which have sent such requests to the Moroccan Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.
These requests were sent by the Tunisian religious affairs ministry and concern the training of Tunisian Imams (religious scholars) in Morocco and benefitting from the Moroccan expertise in building mosques, the secretariat general for religious affairs of Guinea (Conakry) and concern the training of Guinean Imams in Morocco, the Imams and Preaching Institute of the Libyan Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs wishing to benefit from training sessions in the management of religious matters.
After having been informed of these requests, HM King Mohammed VI gave his orders that the said parties be informed of the agreement in principle related to the satisfaction of their cooperation requests and that the minister in charge of the Endowments and Islamic Affairs examines the different aspects of the implementation of such requests.
Morocco has been chosen by Tunisia, Guinea and Libya for its influence in religious matters in Africa and its rejection of extremism and intolerance that may affect the freedom of worship.
