05/28/2014 (press release: CambridgePRGroup) // BALTIMORE // Russel Scion
In just two years on the market, the Scion FR-S has quickly gained a reputation for providing outstanding driving dynamics that are at odds with its low price tag, and for the 2015 model year, the sports car’s engaging ride will be even more responsive. Arriving early next month in time for leisurely summer cruising, the 2015 Scion FR-S will sport a stiffer front suspension and retuned rear shock absorbers that will serve to boost handling and stability while cutting down on body roll.
In addition to its upgraded underpinnings, the 2015 FR-S will don a new shark-fin antenna that is more aerodynamic than the outgoing pole antenna, while larger exhaust tips will be more aligned with the rear bumper. Drivers of Scion’s sports car will also now benefit from auto on/off headlights, a revised carbon-fiber-like interior panel and a new key design. When it comes to color choices, the 2015 FR-S will offer Halo instead of Whiteout for a pearl-white paintjob, while Steel has replaced Argento for a bold silver exterior.
“Scion continues to find ways for driving enthusiasts to get an affordable adrenaline rush with its FR-S, and the improved 2015 model is coming at the perfect time as the weather heats up and drivers take to the back roads,” said Wade Sterry, general manager of Russel Scion, a Baltimore Scion dealership. “The Scion FR-S proves once and for all that if you use smart engineering and lightweight materials, then you don’t need a massive amount of horsepower — or a massive bank account for that matter — to get your heart pumping behind the wheel.”
Paying homage to the past engineering that lead to the development of its entry-level sports car, Scion will be launching a limited-edition FR-S Release Series 1.0 this August that nods to Toyota Racing Development (TRD). Donning a bright-yellow Yuzu paintjob and a custom-made aero kit featuring a rear spoiler and side-fender garnish, the Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 will come with sporty upgrades like a TRD Quad Tip Exhaust System and TRD lowering springs. Inside the cabin, each of the 1,500 models produced will boast a numbered Release Series badge on the brushed-aluminum shifter surround plate, a Smart Key with Push Button Start, and a TRD steering wheel, shift knob and logo cargo mat.
