One of the funniest pound boxing fighters will return to the ring on Saturday night when WBA and IBF weightlifting champion Naoya Inoue defends her belts against Michael Dasmarinas (22:00 ET, ESPN).

Inou has finished nine of his last 10 opponents. Inoue’s power was the lone fight with Nonito Donaire in the 2019 Wrestling of the Year. Winning Donaire is even better in 2021 when Donaire won the WBC weight bantam title after being knocked out by Nordine Oubaali in May.

Inoue followed Donaire with his decision to win – Inoue also won the World Boxing Super Series Championship – knocking out Jason Moloney in the seventh round.

Inoue will be included as a huge betting favorite when the two friends enter the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas ring, and for good reason. While Inou has fought opponents so far, Dasmarinas has not. The Filipino has an impressive record in 12-0-1 since 2014 and only two of them have gone to the scoring cards. But this will be his first appearance in the U.S. in an incredibly difficult test against one of the best in the world.

The return of one of the most important active female boxers on Saturday night also appears today when Mikaela Mayer pits her WBO super featherweight title against Erica Farias. Mayer won his first major title last October over Ewa Brodnick. Now, the dominating Olympic bronze medalist will try to keep that title in the face of the main challenge of Farias, who has not fought since 2019 and is struggling to lose two fights.

Also, Isaac Dogboe is back when Adam Lopez takes the feather in the weight. The former second-tier champion is set to head for the second-place finish in 2018 after leaving the Emanuel Navarrate title.

Below you can take a look at the fight card set for Saturday, with tests provided via the William Hill Sportsbook.

Dasmarinas ’record is impressive, especially in the last six years. You can’t forget the level of opposition, though, and winning Demecillo to kick the title is just the same as winning Inoue with the titles in line. Inou has wild power and a strong boxing technique to use in the best way possible. It looks like Dasmarina is preparing for a very bad night. Select: Inoue via KO5
