When I was growing up, I remember being tagged along with my grandmother on travel Watsons shops. I think that’s one of the big reasons I still enjoy browsing pharmacies today.

However, even though I know Watsons, I never know where he came from. After some research, here is what I found.

The AS Watson Group was founded in Hong Kong in 1841 and is now the largest health and beauty store in the world. It has 15,800 retail stores under 26 brands in 26 markets and employs more than 140,000 people worldwide.

Every year, 5.2 billion shoppers visit physical stores full of light and online stores full of products. Watsons first arrived in Malaysia in 1994, and opened its first store in Holiday Plaza, Johor (and is still open today).

Within 27 years, Malaysia’s leading health and beauty store is opening its 600th store in Pavilion Bukit Jalil (PBJ).

To celebrate this milestone, the brand wants to give to its biggest sponsors (yes, myself included) by organizing events that are only available at the finish line. December 9, 2021. But first, here’s what shoppers can experience in the new store.

Watsons services, upgraded

The newest store is designed with the modern consumer in mind, so Watsons has introduced an enhanced customer experience by combining online and offline services. When you visit the store, here’s what awaits you:

1. Makeup station services

Previously, all of their beauty product customers were testers and sales assistants who explained what a product could do. Now, customers can experience a free makeover service for professional makeup artists at Watsons PBJ.

But if you don’t want to physically apply a product on your face, you can choose this …

2. #ColourMe tablet

The device is powered by Augmented Reality (AR) technology and allows customers to try out different makeup brands.

If you already go to PBJ and want to get some Watsons products but want to cut the queue, this is for you. With this service, you can make online purchases and receive purchases at Watsons 4 hours later, allowing you to plan your departure accordingly.

5. Natural by Watsons filling station
