Matchroom Boxing

One week after George Kambosos got a stunning bout against Teofimo Lopez to win three of the four recognized lightweight world championships, Devin Haney will defend his fourth belt with Joseph Diaz Jr. against the former and dangerous world champion. The fight is dangerous for the 23rd. Haney of the year and one who could see the division thrown into more chaos.

Haney (26-0, 15 KO) has been noted as a professional, but his style and skills have made it difficult for him to find the right opponent in a talented section. On his last outing, Haney was badly injured in his last fight late, caught by Jorge Linares. He still managed to survive the final bell and retained his title in the process. Needing a great opponent, Haney started calling Diaz when Diaz overcame his fight with Ryan Garcia due to a hand injury to Garcia.

Diaz (32-1-1, 15 KOs) is a former IBF super featherweight champion. His only career failure came in 2018, when he left a decision for Gary Russell Jr. to fight for the WBC featherweight title. Since that loss, Diaz has gone 6-0-1, defeating Javier Fortuna in his final outing, and in the process earned the WBC lightweight title.

The action will begin at 8:00 pm at DAZN (subscribe now). The full fight card and Caesars Sportsbook options are listed below.
