Braun Strowman, Aleister Black among the five fighters released by WWE in the wave of outings

WWE has decided to move on from a few fighters. The the company announced on Wednesday Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Murphy, Ruby Riott and Santana Garrett have been released.

Strowman, a former strong competitor, signed with the company in 2013 and made his first television appearance in 2014. He also won the WWE Universal and Intercontinental Championships over a six-year career. Strowman announced in July 2019 that he had signed a new four-year deal with the company.

Black made his WWE debut in 2017 after a long career on the independent circuit. He became a fixture in NXT as a star and eventually took part in the NXT tournament. He made his debut on the main roster in 2019. Black appeared in the vignettes on SmackDown until the end of April, after a six-month stay.

There is still no light on further cuts along the way. It’s not even the first time the company has made such cuts. Just last year the company cut 18 fighters and more on the part of the producer, to reduce costs between the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
