To the despair of all the knots and pains in my body, I have always considered massage a luxury I can’t afford.

How come there are so many decent massage chairs on the market with an average price of RM5-6K, even if the price is in the 7-digit range for the top models?

All of this may change my reality, though Ihocorena RM2,799 full body massage chair.

In short, Ihoco is a brand of wellness products that aims to provide affordable opportunities to improve one’s comfort, posture and overall health.

But is Ihoco’s Comfort Massage Chair a “do you get what you pay for” case or is it surprisingly priced?

Fixing on the seat

Learning how to handle a chair was easy as the manual provided easy-to-follow instructions. Within minutes, I was able to use all the functions of the chair without having to read the cover of the manual.

The remote is also easy to use

I first sat on the massage chair cushions, and although it’s not as earthy as Ihoco’s Comfort Massage Chair, it would still be easy to relax and fall asleep if I chose it.

I personally appreciated how it had the right amount of features for me, as some of the top massage chairs may be oversized, and the cheaper ones have no choice.

The Ihoco Comfort Massage Chair offers an 8D back massage roller, heat therapy functions, shoe rollers and a full body airbag function.

There is also a vibration of the seat, which should release your muscles and increase the effects of the massage on your hips and thighs.

8D refers to simulated kneading and shiatsu massages that direct the neck, shoulders, back and waist / hips.

Manual: You can mix and match any combination of the above functions at the same time, and control the speed, roller intensity and air (for airbags). It’s a pretty intuitive process, and I really liked that I knew what I would get every time I used the remote.

4 car massage program options: Choose full body recovery, spa therapy, relaxation and balance. Although these are automatic, you can adjust the speed, intensity, and air if you are not satisfied with the automatic settings.

Each massage session (manual and automatic) lasts 15 minutes, and you can customize features or switch between auto-massage programs without resetting the timer. As with most massage chairs, you can adjust the angle of the chair to your liking.

I’m usually someone who can’t stand strong massages, so I put all my features in low-to-medium settings. That being said, the rollers and airbags were still strong enough to feel the knots in the trunk and legs still slowly tightening, so the chair definitely did its job.

You can remove the cushion for a more intense massage

The chair was quite wide because I am even smaller in body size, and Ihoco says it can withstand a maximum weight of 100 kg.

A range of other affordable massage devices

Ihoco also has many other massage products for those who do not have room for a massage chair at home or who do not want to immediately invest in a full body massage product.

To do this, we tested other products such as Ihoco WonderX Foot Massager, Ihoco Regen Shiatsu Back & Neck Massager and Ihoco Zendise EMS Neck Massager.

1. Ihoco WonderX foot massage (RM1,549)

This product is designed to care for your knees, legs and feet. It combines 3 integrated rollers for each shoe break, airbag pads and a heat therapy function to relieve foot and pain.

I’ve done more walks recently, so my feet definitely needed TLC (loving care), and this product took over.

Although I am generally sensitive to foot massage, I was able to manually control the functions on the control panel that suited me. This is as easy as remote control of the chair.

In addition to manual control, you get 3 massage programs: Resuscitate, Tone, Reflexology. The leg and knee part of this foot massager can also be rotated at a 140 ° angle, so you can rotate the foot massage to massage only the knees or thighs.

2. Ihoco Regen Shiatsu Back and Neck Massage (RM189)

If I was not yet convinced to buy a full body massage, this product would be my personal choice. It is basically a multi-purpose massage that adapts to the discharge from your body, from the neck to the feet.

It has 4 massage nodes and a heating function to relax your body and promote blood circulation. I liked how I could move from the neck to the hips, to the back of the thighs, the calves and even the hands massage.

There is a great deal of diversity, and being more portable than a massage chair, you can use this in your bed, sofa, office chair and car, as it comes with a car plug adapter.

The device also comes with a therapeutic wrapper that simulates acupressure points. It seemed too much to me, but perhaps those who like deep tissue massages will appreciate it better.

3. Ihoco Zendise EMS Neck Massage (RM169)

Lightweight and portable.

EMS is an electrical muscle stimulation device. Basically, it uses microcurrent electrical impulses and the function of heat compression to get your muscles working.

The stretches rhythmically tighten the neck muscles, improving relaxation and blood circulation at the end of each 15-minute session.

There are 5 massage modes: combination, massage, strokes, scraping and acupuncture, which can be adjusted with 15 intensity settings.

This lightweight device is also foldable and portable for massaging anywhere. It was hard for me to distinguish each way from each other, but I noticed that my neck muscles were a little tense (I used low-intensity settings).

If I had to choose between this and a massage with physical nodes, however, I would prefer the latter. But for those who want the convenience of getting a massage at any time, this may be your preferred wireless option.

Ihoco Comfort Massage Chair has a fixed price of RM 2,799, and you can choose a maximum interest-free installment plan for up to 12 months (Public Bank) or 18 months (Maybank) up to 12 months (Public Bank) or 18 months (Maybank) using the card. It also comes with a 12 month warranty.

All in all, I would say that the Ihoco Comfort Massage Chair is a good compromise between price and function. The customization and features it offers are enough for those who want to pamper themselves with a budget.
