Smriti Mandhana is among the four nominees for the ICC Women of the Year Cricketer Award

Indian batsman Smriti Mandhana was nominated for the ICC Women of the Year Cricketer of the Year Award on Friday for her spectacular performances in all formats.

Mandhana was also nominated for the T20 Women’s Player of the Year Award on Thursday.

Mandhana was nominated for the Grand Prix along with Tammy Beaumont of England, Lizelle Lee of South Africa and Gaby Lewis of Ireland. The award is given to the best player in international women’s boxing (Tests, ODIs and T20Is) during 2021. The winner will be announced on January 23rd.

The 25-year-old right-handed batsman scored 855 games a year in 22 international matches across formats, averaging 38.86 in a century and five centuries.

In the limited series against South Africa, when India won just two of their eight home games, Mandhana played a major role in both victories. He scored 80 not far away but India scored 158 in the second ODI, helped level the series and scored 48 in the final T20I victory.

Mandhana finished with a superb 78-yard touchdown run in the first inning of a single Test against England.

India played a major blow in the 49th in the only one they won in the ODI series. 15 balls in the T20I series went to 29 and fifty in vain as India fell short in two games and lost the series 1-2.

Mandhana had a good relationship in the series against Australia, starting with the ODI series, where he scored 86 in the second ODI.

He achieved a great century in the only Test, the first of his career, and was awarded the Player of the Match Award. In the last match he scored fifty second in the T20I of the year, although India failed and lost the series 2-0.

Mandhana made even more memorable the first pink-ball test in India by breaking his girl-century (127) in the longest format of the game. The match ended in a draw and Mandhana was named player of the match.

With 872 races in 21 internationals, averaging 48.44 in a century and a half in eight centuries, Beaumont of England had the highest runner of the calendar year.

In the multi-format series against India, it started two and a half centuries in a row, the first coming in a single Test and the second winning the game in 87 in an effort not to come out in the first ODI. He made the third half of the tour in the second T20I, even though he came in a losing effort.

He received another player’s award in the opening match of the T20I series against New Zealand at home, losing just a century because he had only three runs. He finished the tour with a tonne that helped England win the ODI series 4-1.

South African Lee won 864 races in 19 internationals, averaging 57.6 in a century and seven half centuries. It was a wonderful form of white ball throughout the year, especially in the ODIs, where in 2021 he had the most runners. 632 runs in 11 games, as well as the first-place women’s ODI batter in the ICC Rankings.

Lee was in great shape on the ODI tour of India, where he scored two hundred and fifty in four games. South Africa won the series 4-1 and Lee was the series player for his 288 races. He then scored another fantastic fifty against India in the second T20I, and helped his team finish the series with a match in hand.

Irishman Lewis Lewis won 624 races in 15 internationals, averaging 52 in a century and a half in four centuries in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier in August, when she became the first Irish woman to achieve the T20I century. The 105th blow only made 60 balls against Germany.
