Ashes: He has returned home to Hazlewood, Australia, in doubt for the Adelaide Test

Australian pelota player Josh Hazlewood has struggled with side tension for the second test against England and is back home, Cricket Australia said on Sunday.

The 30-year-old flew to Sydney for a nine-wick starter match in Australia in Brisbane, after suffering an injury, although he was not officially out of the day-night game in Adelaide.

If he loses on Thursday, Jhye Richardson will take his place.

Hazlewoodi were scanned on Friday, but bowled out on Saturday when Australia got their full victory to make it 1-0 in a five-game series.

Captain Pat Cummins said Hazlewood’s injury was not too serious after the game.

According to local media, the initial David Warner also returned home with a bruised rib, receiving a 94 blow at the first entrance to the Gabba.

While the left-hander Cummins was confident he would be fit for the pink ball test, that injury could give Usman Khawaja a chance to play his first test since he fell in the 2019 Ashes series.
