Daniel Ortega won his fourth consecutive term in an election deemed fraudulent.
To some, Daniel Ortega has mercilessly crushed all dissent in Nicaragua.
He won his fourth consecutive term as president last November after imprisoning opposition candidates and banning international observers and journalists from the country.
But his supporters say he is facing Western persecution.
The United States and the European Union imposed new sanctions before Ortega was sworn in, with Russia, Venezuela and China allies, among others.
So what’s in store now for one of the poorest nations in Central America?
