The planned fight with Mike Tyson may not be for Evander Holyfield, but the boxing legend is still ready to step back this summer. Holyfield will face opponent Kevin McBride on the ticket under the June 5 Triller pay-per-view show, defending his lightweight joint titles against George Kambosos. He reported the news for the first time Illustrated Sports and later confirmed Athletic and Yahoo Sports.

Holyfield, 58, has been retired since beating Brian Nielsen in May 2011. Holyfield, a four-time world heavyweight champion, has become one of the greatest boxing divisions of all time, having competed as an undisputed cruiserweight champion.

Holyfield and Tyson have been linked with potential exposure since Tyson’s first showdown with Roy Jones Jr. began in November. Both sides went back and forth during the first months of 2021 Holyfield Camp stated Tyson was denied $ 25 million for the fight, which would be the third meeting between the two. Holyfield had won the previous two fights, and the second was the famous “bite fight”. Tyson removed a piece from Holyfield’s ear.
