Melbourn joins to replace Perth if he moves to the Ashes Test

Doubtful about Perth’s strict Ashes Test COVID-19 rules, Victoria state authorities have asked Cricket Australia to return the series to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

MCG is planning a third test between Australia and England on December 26 as part of traditional Boxing Day, but it would be an “undeniable” case of replacing Perth for the fifth and final match on January 14, said Victoria Sports Minister Martin Pakula. .

“The Victorian government has certainly made it clear to Cricket Australia that if the Perth test could not go ahead we would not be ready to host the fifth test, but rather enthusiastic about organizing the fifth test,” Pakula told reporters on Wednesday. .

Perth Ashes questions WA while holding on to the hard line in the quarantine

“If they can’t get to the perch and it’s a commercial decision, I think MCG’s claims are undeniable.

“We’ll wait and see, but Cricket Australia is well aware of our interest.”

Pakula’s comments follow similar expressions of interest from other states, including New South Wales, which is hosting the fourth test in Sydney, and Tasmania.

Perth dropped expectations for an Ashes test on Tuesday when Western Australian Prime Minister Mark McGowan said players and staff would have to be in quarantine for 14 days when they arrived from New South Wales from 5 to 9 January after the Sydney test.

Cricket Australia has repeatedly declined to comment on the program.
