The title of French League of Nations raised the country’s national team to No. 3 in Thursday’s FIFA rankings.
France, which won the 2018 World Cup, remains in second place with Belgium and Brazil still at a good level.
The Belgians, who lost to France in the World Cup and League of Nations finals, have been at the top of the table for three years. Belgium added more ranking points than France so far with a better record in the World Cup qualifying program and in the group stage and playoffs of this year’s European Championships.

The 2020 European Championship champion Italy climbed one place to 4th and England dropped two to 5th.
The Top 10 American Cup champions include Argentina, Spain, Portugal, Mexico and Denmark.
Rankings may come into play when FIFA qualifies for the next World Cup draw. He is in Doha, Qatar, on April 1. Senegal is the best nation in Africa in 20th place, while Iran is in 22nd place.
Qatar, the 2019 Asian Cup champion, is number 46 in the World Cup.
