Time seemed to catch up with David Warner as he struggled to run a few months ago, but the revived early batsman in England in 2023 Ashes is earning another win after helping Australia keep Melbourne’s urn.
Since the removal of his Indian Premier League team Sunrisers Hyderabad in September, the 35-year-old Warner has bounced back to take on the honors of the Australian T20 World Cup winner. He is now third on the list of runners in the Ashes series, with an average of 240 on average.

Warner played a major role in Australia’s 3-0 lead at Ashes, giving the team a head start in the opening rounds of Brisbane and Adelaide with 94 and 95 first-round picks. The fourth test will start in Sydney on January 5th.
His initial collaboration with left-hander Marcus Harris has not been so prosperous, as Harris has struggled to run in Melbourne until he scored his third best Test score, 76. Warner has seen many initial partners come and go since Chris Rogers retired after Ashes in 2015, but he is hopeful that he and Harris will be able to hold on for the long term.
Warner said the two openers were more effective in looking to be proactive against England’s bowlers.
“When Harris (Harris) wants to score and I want to score, our defense takes care of itself,” he said.
“We will be between races in the next two races.”
