Brazilian football legend Pele was hospitalized again for treating a colon tumor

Brazilian football legend Pele was hospitalized to receive treatment for a colon tumor, Albert Einstein of Sao Paulo Hospital said on Wednesday that he is in stable condition and should be discharged in the next few days.

The 81-year-old three-time World Cup winner underwent surgery to remove a colon tumor in September and spent nearly a month in hospital. The hospital said he would then have to undergo chemotherapy.

According to a hospital note on Wednesday, Pele is now “continuing” treatment.

The football legend said on Twitter last month that he was “fine” and felt “better every day”.
