Daniil Medvedev has made history by scoring the best career in his 2nd place in the ATP rankings

For the past two decades, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have dominated men’s professional tennis at a historic level. Now, another player is joining that exclusive team. Daniil Medvedev got the best career 2nd place in the ATP rankings when they were released on Monday. Therefore, the first man not Medvedev Djokovic, Federer, Nadal or Andy Murray is one of the two best places in the standings since 2005. According to the Associated Press.

The last man out of those “Big 4s” who appeared at No. 1 or No. 2 in the standings was Lleyton Hewitt, who qualified behind Federer in July 2005.

It’s been more than 15 years, but now Medvedev has made history by approaching the top of the ATP rankings. The Russian tennis star was previously No. 3 in the ATP rankings until he won the Open 13 championship in France on Sunday until he won his 10th career title. Medvedev has never won a Grand Slam, but has reached the finals twice. He lost to Djokovic in the Australian Open final in February and fell to Nadal in the 2019 US Open final.

After finishing 2nd in Hewitt in 2005, Nadal was second for 368 weeks, Federer for 203 weeks, Djokovic for 144 weeks and Murray for 41 weeks.

Djokovic continues to hold on to the top spot as he is achieving the 1st record in week 312.
