For 25 years, OGAWA Malaysia would be forgiven for thinking that it could rest on its laurels with the strength of its brand. But that’s not the case with the group, which is now gradually expanding to renovate physical stores across Malaysia.

Massage chairs have traditionally been a testing experience before purchase, and the new OGAWA concept stores have chairs and other products strategically placed around them, now combined with the new rose gold and white aesthetics that are now the predominant color of the spaces.

OGAWA’s well-known green logo has also taken on a new look in preparation for 2022, turning off the green in search of an elegant white.

As for the offer you’ll see under the banner of the new concept, expect to find a range of signature massage chairs, from massage sofas to today’s flagship ones, to OGAWA Master Drive AI 2.0.

In addition to chairs, you can also explore the range of popular beauty and lifestyle devices.

PROMOTION: Ogawa is running a Christmas sale Until December 31, 2021. Pay attention to discounts of up to 50% (only on selected products) and 0% fee plans up to 68 months (only applicable on selected products).

Aside from the facelift and the new concept, the real strength of OGAWA is that they have fully internalized the extreme service. This means that the research and development (R&D) of their products is managed internally.

By doing so, the OGAWA team can have complete control over every step of the customer’s journey and, more importantly, the quality of the products and services is in their hands.

This is the ultimate goal of internal R&D OGAWA Master Drive AI 2.0, which you will see prominently featured in all of their new stores.

The star of the show

AI can be overused in the word industry when it comes to massage chairs; most market options above a certain range would include “AI” as a feature. Instead, what a strict buyer should look for is something how AI is used to upload experience.

A well-made AI should offer a personalized and highly customizable mode that suits any user who puts it in their hands. Master Drive AI 2.0 is OGAWA’s offering for this market and has many features.

We visited OGAWA’s new Concept Outlet @ Pavilion Bukit Jalil and we tried it ourselves. Our first impression is that the chair is excellent and sturdy. It comes 5,184 massage combinations, but don’t worry, you don’t have to browse them all in person.

Instead, you can use the built-in Health Tracker and Scanner which should detect and analyze your individual body needs in real time and then recommend the most appropriate massage program.

The AI will continue to scan your body during the first and subsequent massages, and will tailor programs to help you find the one that best suits your current situation at different times.

The chair gives you a hug full body massage experience, from the sides of the head and down to the back of the feet. This is possible with the S + L-track of the massage, air compression bags, thermo rollers that can be heated according to preference, and additional AI sensors to provide more accurate locations and pressures.

In addition to using the screen or browser console in the right armrest, you can also activate the chair Control of voice commands, in English, Mandarin or Cantonese.

We also liked the extra navigator buttons on the right armrest that provide an alternative to using the screen.

Another fun feature is its own Facial recognition, you can use it to access your personal profile stored in the chair for a personalized massage regimen.

In addition to the features highlighted above, there are 2 notable programs on the bench M.6 Deep Tissue Auto Program and M.6 Sweet Dream Auto Program.

A joint study by OGAWA and Universiti Malaya found that the former helped improve blood circulation to 81.32% and the latter increased the sleep quality of participants to 88.73%.

Running from a global track

OGAWA has received external recognition for its offerings including the Putra Brand Awards, Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand – Gold Award, Sin Chew Business Excellence Awards, Malaysia Health & Wellness Brand Awards and more.

The group wants to continue to play a role in bringing well-being around the world, and they believe that the new concept of their store is a key part of that goal.

As a Malaysian home brand, they now have more than 1,000 stores and booths in more than 20 countries, and they seem to be on track to expand their products worldwide.
