Negotiations to revive the 2015 nuclear deal signed between Iran and world powers will begin on Monday in the Austrian capital, authorities have announced.
The announcement came on Thursday that a landmark agreement would become obsolete within a week, as Iran warned that if it continues to increase its nuclear activities since 2019, the U.S. will unilaterally step aside and reintroduce sanctions against Iran a year later.

Negotiations began in November after a five-month hiatus to try to reinstate the agreement, which is to ease sanctions on Iran in exchange for a reduction in its nuclear program. The seventh round ended last week, where some modest profits were reported.

U.S. negotiator Rob Malley warned on Tuesday that it was “time to escalate the crisis” if diplomacy did not reinstate the deal.
Iran says its nuclear program is peaceful and only wants to develop a civilian nuclear capability, but Western powers say the uranium enrichment repository goes far beyond that and can be used to develop a nuclear weapon.
