BAN vs PAK, Test 2: Shakib, Taskin’s return boost for the host

Key Bangladeshi stars Shakib Al Hasan and Taskin Ahmed have returned from injury as their hosts struggled to avoid a hand wash in Pakistan in the second round in Dhaka.

Bangladesh continue with a 1-0 win in the two-match Test series after winning eight wickets at Chittagong, where they missed a strike ball badly.

Pakistan also beat the host in the 3-0 Twenty20 series.

But Bangladesh have won five of their last seven Tests at Mirpur Stadium in Dhaka, including England and Australia, which ensures they can repeat the feat there when the Test starts on Saturday.

Skipper Mominul Haque expects Mirpur’s field conditions to be on par with Chittagong, where Bangladesh was competitive for the first four days.

“I prefer wickets like that. I think we had a completely flat wicket, and that was helpful for the batters, but the pacers faced the hurdles,” Mominul said after losing the first test.

Bangaldesh’s left-arm spinner Taijul Islam fought a lone fight to get 7-116 in the first inning.

But Pakistan got an easy victory, despite their best efforts, thanks to 151 runners from Abid Ali and Abdullah Shafique.

Shakib Taijul’s regular spin partner lost the competition after a sprained ankle injury in last month’s Twenty20 World Cup.

Shakib joined the first team in the test in hopes of recovering in time, but was later ruled out.

Bangladesh also lost the services of Taskin pelota player after injuring his finger in the last Twenty20 international match against Pakistan on November 22nd.

The Taskin Test has been in good form since returning from a four-year absence, scoring 11 wickets in three games.

Many changes are expected for the host of the second test, with the disease leading to the opening of batsman Saif Hassan.

The Bangladeshi selectors have nominated a group of 19 members for the upcoming series in New Zealand, which will travel two days after the Dhaka test.

A Pakistani batsman Abid Ali, who scored 133 and 91 points in the first round, says the previous victories are worthless.

“It will be a new day and we need to unite with a positive spirit,” he said.

Pakistan ranks second in the World Test Championship table.
