BREAKING,

Djokovic has won an appeal against his decision to refuse a visa before the Australian Open.

An Australian judge has revoked the visa of tennis star Novak Djokovic and decided to release him from immigration detention.

Judge Anthony Kelly on Monday ordered Djokovic released within 30 minutes and returned his passport and other travel documents, regaining his chance to win the world number one title record at the upcoming Australian Open.

However, federal government lawyers told the court that the country’s immigration minister was reserving the right to use his personal power to revoke his visa to Djokovic.

Djokovic, 34, has been detained in an immigration detention hotel alongside long-term asylum seekers since Thursday.
