FIFA World Cup qualifiers: Colombia’s Falcao comes out injured

Radamel Falcao will miss the World Cup qualifiers against Brazil and Paraguay due to injury, the national federation announced on Monday.

The Colombian federation said the 35-year-old was injured by Rayo Vallecano in a league match against Real Madrid last Saturday.

“Radamel Falcao had a fracture in the adductor muscle of his right thigh,” Rayo Vallecano said in a note, adding that he would be out for three to four weeks.

Colombia is fourth in the South American standings and has taken last place in the standings for next year’s World Cup finals.

He will face Brazil away on Friday and Paraguay at home next Tuesday.
