On an ordinary day …

It seems like a normal day for me to spend a lot of time working on the computer, taking calls, taking coffee breaks with my boyfriend, Porter and playing time with my dog Linx.

When you wake up …

Anywhere from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. I try to sleep eight hours a night, but that doesn’t always happen.

The first thing he does when he wakes up …

I like to get up early because I have time for myself. Usually, Linx likes to wake my dog up from 7:30 am to 8:00 am, so if he’s ready to get up with me, the first thing I do is get him out in the yard. Then I take it upstairs and continue with my routine. This is varied, sometimes I can stretch and train or spend extra time doing my skin care routine. I’m not very structured in the morning because I like to hear how I feel about this and do any of them before I get to work.

In his workout routine …

During the blockade, training sessions became more intense and essential. I’m not a yoga person, but I love good cardio. Proper music is the most important step for me because it motivates me. Once chosen, I can follow the pre-workout routine with a few yoga movements, stretching with vague nerve work, and then I start to get into my squat routine, elliptical, and weights. If it’s nice, I like to do the Prospect Park perimeter.

How the morning habit changed during the quarantine …

2020 and 2021 have been such difficult years personally and professionally that I found it a critical exercise to feel positive about the state of the world and to release frustration. I also spent more time talking to family in the morning, especially my twin sister who lives in Stockholm. My skin care routine also changed a bit. Previously, I used Metamorph Cleansing Balm at night as a gua sha slip, but I realized that with the added stress and monotony of blocking, I started using gua sha as a massage in the morning, slowly waking up and relieving the stress I feel.

In the morning beauty routine from start to finish …

I start with a gentle hand massage using ours Closes to clear the metamorph. Applying this evenly, I begin to gently massage the facial contour using the gua sha tool. The areas where I expend the most energy are between the eyebrows, the jaw bones, and the neck. When the massage is over, I like to let the cleansing balm sit for a while and then I like to rinse it with warm water, letting the balm turn into milk, using a damp cloth to wash it off.

After this step, I press cold water on my face to fully wake up. I really like to relax in cold water. Lately, I’ve been testing a toner made, but I’d use it before Heritage Store Rosewater Toner.

When the skin is almost dry, I will use three or six drops Rock Rose Face Serum. This serum has one of the most unique scents. When applied to my face, I like to breathe my palms before applying them. I use it generously on my face and neck.

After the serum is completely absorbed, I continue with a value of approximately one cent Taos Blue Day Cream. This cream is very easy to layer with other products and the smell always reminds me of the desert. Sometimes when the weather is very dry, I add a few drops Amber Elix Facial Oil before applying this cream (if it is a wet day, I will set aside the day cream and monitor it Supergoop SPF and Amber Elix Face Oil).

If I go outside, I will add a little mineral sunscreen (Supergoop) After Taos Blue Day Cream. While I wait until the cream is completely absorbed on my face, I take a couple of drops of Amber Elix Facial Oil and start rubbing the oil on my neck and décolleté. Using more drops if necessary, I will gently press the oil on the face to the highest points of the cheeks, rub my eyes, the middle of the forehead gently and treat any scars I may have. This face oil is wonderful for old or new scars, and has a slightly spicy and uplifting scent, which is perfect for the final step of my routine. I will use the oil left in my hands at the end of my hair to make sure nothing is wasted.

For breakfast …

I fast from time to time so I don’t have breakfast in the morning. I will take water with vitamin pills, take it The Serine Powder or Whole Foods L-Theanine supplement pills, and I take a coffee or tea.

In his morning media rites …

It’s the first thing I open up about BBC News or NPR and check Ayond’s Instagram. Then I usually go out on a podcast while I check my emails.

In his favorite books …

I enjoy different types of books for different reasons. At the moment, I am reading Other slavery: The discovered story of American Indian slavery By Andrés Reséndez and a book on skin care aesthetics.

What he always has on his nightstand …

Slip Eye Mask or Simply an Organic Sleep Mask, ear plugs, water and my phone. I like to play sudoku on my phone before I go to sleep.

In his favorite soundtrack …

In AM, it usually is Daily podcast. At any other time I like to pick an artist and play similar mixed music. He’s an artist I’ve been listening to lately Kokoroko.

In the morning training …

Since I run a small business and wear a lot of hats, I can’t devote too much time to work in the morning, but I do a light 30-minute workout most days. On weekends I like to work in the afternoon instead of in the morning and train for an hour or more.

In the daily uniform …

I like to keep things easy, a little weird, Toteme jeans or WIN jeans for those quiet days, and probably a black top. When I locked up, I preferred jeans, but I kept everything else the same.

If he had one more hour every morning …

I would spend more time working or talking on the phone with my twin sister.

What makes life present, a greater and happier life …

Take a moment to spend time outside and talk to your loved one. It’s the best way to clear my thoughts outdoors and talking to my family and friends always makes me feel better and happier.

The secret of success …

I don’t think I’ve had that moment, things have progressed based on my current choices and perseverance – nothing has felt like an “ah-ha” moment and I’ve had to work hard for what I have.

Sentence endings:

I’ve never left home … keys and my phone.

If there were more hours a day, I would do it.. travel more.

The healthiest morning habit … skin and water!

The worst habit of the morning … Some would say regular fasting, but I like the morning routine.
