One of my favorites for a new year is to set reading goals for the next 12 months. I use GoodReads The app organizes books into a “Want to read” category, set a numerical goal, and start reading. This year, I’m increasing my goal of reading 20 titles, and my list is full of books that will become movies in 2022. I’ve always enjoyed reading books before adapting to movies or TV shows and comparing the two. For the most part, I find the screen adaptation to be blurry compared to the beauty of the book, but from time to time, there is a film or show that does justice to a story. That being said, I always have high hopes for these adaptations and I always look forward to their release dates.
My friends and I recently created a GroupMe channel where we send and receive book recommendations, discuss our favorites, and plan meetings. This year, I urge everyone to read Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens before July so that we can all see it in the movie theaters that await us together. My ideal is to plan to read a book and watch the movie / show as a group book club model, and I can’t wait to get started.

Not Crawdads Sing Author: Delia Owens
Where Crawdads Sing is one of those books that makes you want to browse to a comfortable place and read all the pages in one seat … or at least that’s what I did! I didn’t want to end the story, but at the same time I was dying to get to the bottom of what was happening. This age-old mystery novel has really taken me to another world — to a quiet coastal town in the 1960s — and follows the life and experiences of the female protagonist, Kya “The Marsh Girl,” when someone in the village appears dead. . When I heard that he was preparing an adaptation of the film, I didn’t think I would be more excited until I found out that he had to portray Daisy Edgar Jones Kya. Another advantage? Reese Witherspoon is also involved in the project.

Interviews with friends Author: Sally Rooney
Sally Rooney has one of the most beautiful writing styles I’ve ever read. While I haven’t read it yet Conversations with friends, his novel Normal people It was one of my favorite readings of 2020. Hulu is already adapted Normal people in a limited series (worth seeing if you haven’t seen it yet), and the same team is shaping up now Conversations with friends! This book, which was truly Rooney’s first novel, follows the intricate relationships of best friends, Frances and Bobbi, and married couples Melissa and Nick. Although no one has yet been linked to this miniseries, there is something similar Normal people, for sure it will be incredible.

Redemptive love By Francine Rivers
This beloved love classic inspired by the Book of Hosea in the Bible is finally being considered as a feature film. It will star Abigail Cowen, Nina Dobrev, Tom Lewis and Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy fans, McSteamy is back!). This book continues Angel’s journey from prostitution to self-acceptance, forgiveness, and love. Needless to say, this book, and thankfully, the film, is hopelessly romantic. Every woman will want to find a man like her The rescue of love Mikel. Don’t be afraid of lengths … the story sucks you in and you’ll finish before you know it. Watch the trailer here.

Deep Water By Patricia Highsmith
Brought to us by the author Mr. Ripley’s talent, Deep Water Perfect Suburban Life is a psychological thriller about the seemingly dark realities behind it. Vic and Melinda Van Allen have an unrequited marriage, which Melinda survives only by an agreement that she can have a number of extramarital lovers. Deciding to get his wife back, Vic considers the murder of one of his lovers a fake … but it soon becomes a reality. This film adaptation stars Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas (and former). I’m excited to read this book, and I’m even more excited to see the fictional and real-life tensions on screen.

Death on the Nile Author: Agatha Christie
Part of the Hercule Poirot mystery series, Death on the Nile It will be released as a sequel to the 2017 film adaptation The murder of Orient Express. Agatha Christie, the ‘Queen of Mystery’, recounts this story of a dead heir and a ship full of motifs. Kenneth Branagh returns as Poirot to the screen and will be joined by Gal Gadot, Tom Bateman, Arnie Hammer, Annette Bening and Letitia Wright.

This period piece is set in the 1950s and looks at Mrs. Harris, a London cleaner, with the most beautiful thing she has ever seen, a Dior dress. Personally, I relate to Ms. Harris ’love of fashion, and I can’t wait to go to Paris and read her constantly how she works to fit into the world of sewing. Mrs. Harris is a 60-year-old woman with the charm and spirit of a young woman, and I can only imagine how beautiful she will be on the fashion screen.

Blonde Author: Joyce Carol Oates
Marilyn Monroe’s life has long been the subject of fascination and judgment. The Blonde Woman’s inner workings, myth, legend, known as Norma Jeane Baker, Marilyn Monroe, is a fictional tale. This young girl tells a horrible story that has lost its way. It’s a beautiful tribute to the star, who will be played by Ana de Armas in this Netflix adaptation.

Persuasion It is Jane Austen’s latest novel and is a love story about missed opportunities and a satire of the futility of society. Anne Elliot, the protagonist is 27 years old and has no interest in love. When she was a young girl, she had to reject Anne Frederick Wentworth’s proposal. However, after eight years of crossing paths, everything is sure to change. Dakota Johnson will portray Anne Elliot, and Cosmo Jarvis will portray Frederick Wentworth.

The back of the book sums it up best: “Some secrets are darker than others.” I’m a fan of any kind of thriller novel, and Anatomy of a scandal it promises a little bit of everything: it’s full of love, mystery, lies, and politics. The TV adaptation of this court drama will no doubt appeal to fans Scandal and Big Little Lies. Stacked actors include Sienna Miller, Michelle Dockery and Rupert Friend. I want to get a copy of this book before I get to Netflix.

Joe Hill’s “The Black Phone.”
Black Phone This is a story from Joe Hill’s collection of stories. 20th century ghosts. It’s about Finney Shaw, about a young boy who is kidnapped and locked up in the basement of a serial killer. When he finds a mysterious and disconnected phone, he hears the voices of the victims of his kidnapper who are trying to help Shaw escape. The classic story we all know and love is refreshing and will hit Disney + in 2022. It’s the same story as Darling’s brother’s trip to Neverland, but full of new actors and stars. Ever Gabo Andeson (also seen on Black window) She will play Wendy, Alexander Molony will make her debut as Peter Pan and Jude Law will be Captain Hook. The movie will be titled Peter Pan and Wendy.

My police Author: Bethan Roberts
My police It is the story of a love triangle between a police officer, his wife and a man named Patrick.
