The former Hollywood tycoon has been extradited to California despite the lawyer’s arguments, he needs medical attention in New York.

“We are appealing his decision in New York and we have filed a Habeas corpus application in Los Angeles High Court until the Los Angeles District Attorney receives the medical care he needs in New York to prevent Mr. Weinstein from being transported to Los Angeles,” Werksman added.

The Los Angeles County Courthouse office was not immediately available for comment.

The allegations against Weinstein in California arose from the 2004 to 2013 sexual assaults of five women around Los Angeles.

He has filed 11 indictments in Los Angeles, including four counts of rape, four counts of oral intercourse, two counts of holding a battery of sex and one count of sexual assault using force.

Weinstein is serving a 23-year prison sentence after that February 2020 conviction Manhattan in 2006 for sexually assaulting a production assistant and in 2013 for third-degree rape of an aspiring actor.
