It feels like yesterday I packed my bags and went to LA to spend a month June on a west coast adventure with my best friend. I really can’t believe how quickly our month has gone by, but I decided to have it as hard as the epic in July. Since my roommate is returning to Texas, we talked verbally everything this summer together (including renting a bed / bathroom), I’ve been doing things in July to entertain myself, on my own.

I’m as simple as starting to think about the August to-do list and getting back to reality, I’m doing everything I can to be present and take the whole last month of summer.

If you’re like me and wondering what to do in July, this list is for you. If the weather is perfect and you want it stay away all day long (Californians, I’m talking to you), or I can’t be away for more than five minutes without shedding a sweat (hi, Texans), you’re covered. Celebrate National Ice Cream Month.

What better way to bite than with ice cream? Arrange a test drive the best vanilla ice cream at the grocery store, try one of these healthy ice cream recipes, or just take a spoon and a snack and just celebrate.

If you’re too hot to think about meat or want to try something new, joining Meat-Free Mondays in July can be a fun way to try some new recipes. I personally love a light summer meatless meal, like these protein-rich vegetarian recipes.

We’ve all rounded them up recently to re-read our editor’s favorite books, and I was really excited to re-read my hobbies.

Be a 90s movie marathon when it gets too hot outside.

Let’s face it: even though summers have to be spent outside, it sometimes gets too hot. Invite friends to bed or buy yourself a bed and take it 90s film marathon to escape the heat and relax.

Clean the closet.

If you’re looking for productive things to do in July, I recommend cleaning your closet. I know you probably feel like you do Nothing else Spring cleaning was over, but now it’s perfect for throwing away last season’s summer clothes you’ve never worn this year. Nothing screams in the summer like baseball and hot dogs. I went to a Dodger game and even though I wouldn’t call it the biggest baseball fan, I had the best time to go outside and feel the energy of the game. In addition, most sporting events have returned to full capacity.

Garden your home garden (or start one).

Binge sees a limited series.

This July, take the day off to do nothing and get together the best summer shows. I personally binged Cruel summer, Easttown mare, and Biraka so far this summer and they are all in one season, perfect for making great.

Go swimming at night.

Some of my favorite childhood memories are of swimming with lake clothes on family night. Take the leap (literally) and swim the house at night this July. If you don’t have a pool or water nearby, dream about these pools worth diving into.
