Jollibee Malaysia Sunway Pyramid store menu and plan to expand – Wired PR Lifestyle Story

Jollibee it has finally reached the West Malaysian coast, opening its first Sunway Pyramid outlet on February 8th.

The expansion comes in about 4 years since Kota Kinabalu (KK) launched its first (and only) outlet in Malaysia in 2018.

These include the famous regular and spicy Chickenjoy brand (we preferred the latter) and Jolly Spaghetti (which was sweet and smoky on the palate).

The usual Chickenjoy didn’t stand out much to us, my colleagues agreed that the spicy was victorious against KFC. Later, in an interview with Jollibee Malaysia spokespersons, we learned that Spicy Chickenjoy is not offered in all outlets, but they thought it would be the right Malaysian market (and they were right!).

After that, the store will also premiere Jollibee Spicy Chicken Sandwich later.

As for desserts, the flavors of Jollibee’s Chocolate Sundae were reminiscent of the White Rabbit candy we grew up with.

When it was introduced, we learned that Jollibee started in 1975 as an ice cream parlor. Later, based on customer requests, the store began selling chicken burgers and sandwiches, which became more popular than ice cream itself and caused its pivot. fast food chain in 1978.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to test these important products, as Jollibee will start taking orders tomorrow after the official release.

Over time, customers can expect to see more menu items that are better suited to Malaysian flavor preferences.

Customers can check it out at the box office and at Jollibee’s self-order kiosks inside the store, showing the brand’s movement to keep up with the competition’s digitalization efforts.

50 stores in five years

Today, Jollibee has approximately 1,450 stores worldwide, with restaurants in SEA, the Middle East, East Asia, North America and Europe.

In 2019, that was the case reported Jollibe wanted to open 100 stores in Malaysia over the next 10 years, including 50 stores in Sabah and Sarawak.

But so far they have not been able to launch such plans as a result of the pandemic, according to Rodel Alcantara and Alwyn Chong, Jollibee’s Director of International Operations and Managing Director, respectively.

But as the country revives, the group is confident that plans to expand 50 more stores in Malaysia over the next five years will be well-received. The expansion is expected to open 3,800 jobs for locals.

Jollibee is a strategic opportunity to open Sunway Pyramid’s first store in West Malaysia. The location is due to the lively mix of Petaling Jaya’s residential visitors, along with college students.

“Even in the time of the pandemic, I think it was the Sunway Pyramid [one of] the first shopping malls to really thrive, ”Alwyn said. “And I think they actually recovered faster than most [around the] downtown ”.

It is located on the LG2 Blue Atrium in the Jollibee Mall, where there would be heavy pedestrian traffic due to events occurring in the promotional area as well as the directional flow from the entrance to the mall.

The store will be one of the first food options for tired and hungry theme parks, which will probably also include tourists.

Rodel and Alwyn shared that Jollibee’s next outlet in West Malaysia is already established in the Bukit Jalil pavilion. Due to the population of Klang Valley, the group wants to focus on expanding here first before moving to other states like Penang, Johor and Melaka. Residents of KK can also expect to see more outlets in the coming years.
