There is so much involved in deciding to have a child, and after passing the basic question if If you want to be a parent, the next question is when do you want to stop. In addition, there are external questions from others, such as, “Will you have another baby?” or “how many do you want?” this can have a profound effect on this delicate decision-making process. But how to do it really do you know What are the signs that you are finished having children?

Sure, there are some demanding planners who have known these answers for years, and others who intuitively know when to have children, but for so many families it’s not so easy to answer the question. So like me, if you’re struggling to decide whether or not to have children, I hear you! In fact, I think about this once a year. In full transparency, my husband and I underwent IVF to get pregnant with our son, and we are left with three embryos from that harvest. We pay to store these embryos, so when the annual payment is made, “Are we finished?” discussion.

I will be honest; I feel like I’m inside now way of survival with two babies, I don’t think it’s fair to ask myself that question right now. It’s hard to get through this phase and I’d like to review it much more honestly when my kids are four and five years old. On the other hand, waiting so long would mean that I would have our third child in the mid or late 40s, so even though I’m not against it, I’m not sure if I will. energy for another child.

Whatever your personal situation, one thing is for sure, it’s a tough question and a harder decision to make! To help, I have compiled a short list of factors to consider when looking for answers based on my personal experience and the experience of another mother in my community.

So you may end up having children if …

You are ready to decorate and clean up the mess

Every mother understands how baby equipment, toys, and furniture can invade every room in the home. Have you ever stepped on a Lego block in the middle of the night? It has happened to me too many times. The strollers — even if they fold — take up a third of the lobby, your little one is about to move from his crib to the big children’s bed, and your closet is full of monkeys. might be a practical linen wardrobe.

Maybe you’ve started planning what your baby’s room will look like beyond kindergarten decor, and while you’re grateful for the days spent growing up your newborn, you’re not as enthusiastic as before. It’s perfectly normal to want to hang some childhood souvenirs on your child, but if you can’t afford to leave a lot to yourself, that may be because you want to become a hands-on.

They can’t take your finances

On average, it costs almost $ 250,000 to raise a child“That’s not a change of pocket.” Let’s face it, kids demand a lot things. Having another child means renovating your home or vehicle, and when it comes to vehicles, Kindergarten per child could cost as much as a car in each one in.

Considering finances before considering another child is a very practical thing to do. At the end of the day, parents can relate to the feeling of being safe and ready to succeed. Nothing gets you out of a dream caused by a child’s fever, like remembering that if you had another one you would have stretched your finances too far.

You feel calm and happy

If you feel happy and whole with your family, it is worth considering. I felt very happy and blessed after being Liam, but I couldn’t let go of the excitement I felt when I thought of having another one. As soon as Norah arrived, a new feeling of calm overtook me and I finally realized that it was my intuition telling me that my sweet little family was finally full and complete.

My husband and I do regular check-ins where we can better help each other and talk about what’s going on in our relationship. When we were thinking about whether or not to expand the family, we used that time to immerse ourselves in our feelings, that is, we made the decision on the same page as a group.

I talked to other moms in my community to get some information from them. Often, decisions come from what the universe holds. I’ve heard it over and over again …“the universe had other plans for me”—Because a promotion is coming up or a relocation option that fits in your lap, in many cases the options you know were meant for you, and having another child is not an option.

Other moms remember the feeling of giving more to the heart, and sometimes it can be just as easy. So how really Do you know when you end up having children? There really isn’t a specific way to get the right answer, but there are ways to approach it by considering some of the points mentioned above. In general, it’s important to give yourself time to get the right choice, and as so many women have told me, you’ll know when you know it.

If you’re struggling to decide whether or not to have children, I hope these points have helped to encourage deeper reflection to help you find the answer you’re looking for. I’ve found that doing some free-flowing diaries helps you pick up your thoughts on paper, revealing how you really feel. And if you are experiencing a particularly difficult time, it may be time to contact a consultant in your area who will help you with this decision.

For any mom who has decided to end up having children, tell me what was done in the comments you realized.
