As he moves into the post-WWE SummerSlam phase, he will perform Extreme Rules on September 26 in Columbus, Ohio. The event is known for the appearance of several gimmick matches on unlimited lines and the 2021 edition of the event is unlikely to be any different.

Several matches have already been confirmed for the event, including the return of Finn Balor’s character as the devil for the universal tournament against Roman Reigns. Also, Bianca Belair will be looking to equalize with Becky Lynch in the SmackDown women’s tournament in less than 30 seconds after losing in the SummerSlam.

The card is still in development, but we now know of four title matches set for the card. Let’s see what we know and what we expect in WWE Extreme Rules.

WWE Extreme Rules games

Universal Championship – Roman Reigns (c) vs. Finn Balor (Extreme Rules Match): Reigns got a questionable win over Balor on SmackDown, a victory that led to Balor becoming the “Devil” for the first time in years. It looks like the walls are starting to close to Reigns. Now not only against Balor’s more difficult form of defending his championship, Brock Lesnar has recently returned and put his gaze on the universal champion.

SmackDown Women’s Tournament – Becky Lynch (c) vs Bianca Belair: Lynch made the long-awaited comeback at SummerSlam, and it took him less than 30 seconds to win Belair and win the title. The situation was utterly unfavorable and the only thing that made sense was a rematch. Fans expect a match between the two and one that will bring out the best in two very talented actors.

Raw Women’s Championship – Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Alexa Bliss: Flair eventually overcame her problems with Rhea Ripley and Nikki ASH by including the pair on their label team. Bliss won a match to be the 1st contestant, finally taking her top character as a kind of witch with an enchanted doll to the title photo. Bliss’s games are in danger of going astray – he recently won a game with his doll gesturing to Doudropa – but Flair and Bliss have shown great chemistry in live wrestling matches in the past.

United States Championship – Damian Priest (c) Sheamus vs Jeff Hardy: Priest won at the hands of Sheamus at SummerSlam and has been a wrestling champion ever since, offering several open challenges. This is in stark contrast to Sheamus ’use of his title reign, where he refused to defend the title unless absolutely necessary. Now, Sheamus gets a rematch after defeating Drew McIntyre in a match to determine Priest’s PPV opponent. Unfortunately for Sheamus, he lost a game on Raw against Hardy, which also allowed Hardy to win a spot in the game, turning him into a triple threat.

SmackDown Tag Team Tournament – The Usos (c) vs. The Street Profits: The profits have made their way back as a title challenge. The pigeons have been fully associated and aligned with the Roman Reigns since they were born. After Rey and Dominik have completely conquered Mysterio, they now face the next challenge.

Liv Morgan vs Carmella: This match came out of nowhere after Morgan and Carmella had problems with Money in the Bank, and then they were nowhere to be found. Carmella spent a long time then challenging SmackDown women’s champion Bianca Belairri, while Morgan had few TV matches. With all that said, Morgan challenged Carmella on SmackDown and now the pair are reunited on the poster below the Extreme Rules.

WWE Extreme Rules predictions

WWE Championship – Big E (c) vs. Bobby Lashley: Big Ek won a contract with Money in the Bank on Raw, Lashley survived a challenge from Randy Orton and won over Lashley a few moments later. Seeing that Lashley was injured when Big Ek was charged, it’s easy because of that situation and Lashley had to get a rematch in the payoff. Lashley has yet to fix his problems with Goldberg and in a PPV that is largely out of the window, it is likely that Goldberg will play to the finish line.

Drew McIntyre vs Jinder Mahal: McIntyre hasn’t had much to do beyond the problems he has had with Mahal, Veer and Shanky in recent months. It feels like leaving this Extreme Rules match to the end would make sense as one of the few untitled fights on the show.
